Panjin Archive Library is a comprehensive municipal archive library, which is directly under the governing of Panjin Municipal Party Committee and Panjin Municipal Government. It is the base to keep permanently the records of Party and government organs, organizations, enterprises and institutions, as well as the center for public access to the archives and of the archive scientific research. Its function and responsibility are to centralize and take charge of the records and relevant data of Party and government organs, municipal enterprises and institutions with the principles of keeping the verity of Party and State History; maintain the integrity and security of the archives and try to develop and utilize archive resource so as to serve the modernization of socialism efficiently. Panjin Archive Library was set up in 1985. Its various aspects develop very rapidly since then, which are mainly demonstrated in the following sections— archive structure is accomplished gradually; archive operation work is carried out extensively, the pace of archive infrastructure construction is accelerated and the condition of archive custody is improved incessantly.
